Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts
Council – announces the 2009 edition of the AiR Romania / Bulgaria Program,
a 3 year program for artistic residencies for Romanian and Bulgarian artists (2008
-2010). In Romania
the program is administrated by United Experts – a company
delivering consultancy services and coaching in culture - , on the base of a
mandate offered by Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council.
With this artist – in residency program, Pro Helvetia are
encouraging intercultural exchange in the fields of visual arts, music,
literature and dance. The residency program consists of a bilateral annual
exchange of artists (one artist from Romania,
respective from Bulgaria, in
residency in Switzerland and
two Swiss artists in residency in Romania,
respective Bulgaria)
in one or more artistic fields.
For 2009 it will be organized o residency for one Romanian
visual artist in Switzerland,
at

in the period 1 September – 31 October
It will be provided financial support for:
-
international transport (plane ticket) and local
transport in Switzerland
(Swiss pass)
-
accommodation and per diem
-
budget for production costs
A Swiss coach will accompany the artist during the
residency.
Conditions for selection:
Romanian artists interested to participate at this program
must have a convincing track of record in the arts, be willing to engage with
the culture of the host country and have the requisite language skills.
The application must contain the following
information/documents:
1. Information concerning the applicant: name and first
name, marital status, address, telephone, email, website, foreign languages
(level)
2. Curriculum Vitae
3. Motivation for participation at this residency program,
including a short description of the project that will be implemented during
the residency.
4. Relevant documentation concerning the previous works and
projects (videos, photos, publications, press excerpts, etc.).
The envelop containing the application will be marked with
“For AiR Program” and it will be send by post to the address of

The deadline for receiving the applications is 27 March 2009.
The application which will be received after this day will not be considered,
even if they are marked by post with 27 March.
